My top 3 favorite restaurants in Singapore

Even though I have only lived in Singapore for about two months, I have already found a couple of amazing and delicious restaurants that meet my taste. A restaurant that hits me will usually not only serve great food but also offer a unique environment, or let’s call it scénerie… I pay great attention to the atmosphere and coming from an advertising and branding background. I also credit the design of the menu and the arrangement of dishes.

Here are the top 3 of my favorite and most mouth-watering restaurants in Singapore.

I guess – by now – you’ve all heard of Jypsy. Since Daniel and I spontaneously ended up in this restaurant during our pre-move-visit one evening, I’ve been there at least once a week. I immediately fell in love with not only the restaurant but the area around it (aka Robertson Quay <3). That evening, Singapore convinced me, and for the first time, we both frankly could picture moving to Singapore.

1 Cluny Road, Ginger Garden Singapore Botanic Garden, 259569

The Halia is a halal-food orientated restaurant located in the middle of the Botanical Garden in Singapore. Thus, the atmosphere is exceptional, as one is surrounded by palms and all kinds of other tropical trees and plants. The prices are above average, though you should keep in mind the extraordinary location does somehow justify it. And the food… guys! The food is AMAZING!

The CE LA VIE is a MUST for all visitors in Singapore. It is located on the “ship” of the Marina Bay Sands, the 191-meter-high hotel with three towers, which – although not opened until 2010 – is already considered as kind of Singapore’s landmarks. A trip to the observation deck costs approximately SGD 30 per pax, which is frankly the same amount you’d spend for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. And here’s the trick: If you make a reservation upfront for the bar or the restaurant (and in all fairness commit to buy at least a glass of wine or a drink), you will be able to go up free (and have the same view). For our anniversary, we also had dinner there. The food is indeed very price-intensive (one also pays for the view), but unbelievably delicious and the experience to be able to eat in the open air at the height of 191 meters and to have the city at one’s feet… this is priceless.
