[Foodie Guide] Kampong Glam & Haji Lane
As one of the most creative and vibrant areas in Singapore, Kampong Glam boasts a myriad of unique food, buzzing bars, and is a café hopper’s haven. With the impressive Sultan Mosque and its golden dome that has a decisive influence on the image of the quarter you might think you are in some Middle Eastern city rather than in Singapore. But even though the scents around Arab Street are very intriguing and the shops are always busy, I have been told that the cuisine there is not very good let alone authentic.
The neighboring streets of Beach Road and Haji Lane with their many colorful faithfully restored houses and narrow alleys have many bars and coffee shops to explore and with live bands at every corner the quarter is always buzzing. Here are my favorite restaurants, coffee shops, and bars that you will find around in Kampong Glam.
